Real estate law comprises a significant portion of the Kreis Enderle practice. We represent developers, investors, borrowers, lenders, hotel operators, hospitals, industrial facilities and shopping centers throughout the United States. Our attorneys serve as counsel for some of the largest commercial developers in Michigan and throughout the United States. We provide a wide array of real estate representation, including:

Sale, Acquisition and Development: We advise buyers and sellers of commercial and residential real property. We work with clients from start to finish including negotiating the transaction, valuing the market, and taking the deal through closing.

Lending and Financing: We work with commercial lenders and individual investors to structure financing, both secured and unsecured, to facilitate real estate transactions.

Hospitality Development – Hotels, Restaurants and other Service Industry Businesses: Our real estate attorneys counsel clients on all aspects of hospitality law. We provide particular expertise in land acquisition, licensing, franchising, construction, contract negotiation, and employment issues that arise during the development and operational stages of hotels, restaurants, clubs, and other service sector organizations, including non-profit organizations.

Real Estate Litigation: Our attorneys handle all types of real estate litigation including quiet title actions, boundary disputes, judicial foreclosures, construction claims, adverse possession actions, contract litigation, and landlord/tenant disputes.

Zoning and Land Use: The Real Estate Practice Group has vast experience representing buyers, sellers, large scale commercial developers and municipalities in all phases of zoning, land use, and development proceedings, including the handling of public hearings and appeals.

Commercial and Residential Leasing and Property Management: We advise landlords, tenants, and property management firms in all leasing and property management related activities from the initial lease negotiations to occupancy termination.

Real Estate Loan Workouts: We have significant experience in the workout and restructuring of loan and other complex financial transactions, including issues of sale and the liquidation of secured and unsecured collateral. Kreis Enderle’s real estate and banking attorneys have extensive experience serving both regional and national lending institutions in real estate specific loan workouts.

Condominiums: Our attorneys represent several commercial and residential condominium developers in Southwest Michigan. We work closely with the most experienced architects and engineers to bring value to each development.

Green Building: West Michigan has one of the highest concentrations of LEED Certified buildings in the United States. If your development will be seeking LEED certification, involving your legal team early in the process will position your project to achieve its credits, and design related goals. As the only Southwest Michigan law firm with two LEED Accredited Professional (LEED® AP) attorneys on staff, we have the experience and ability to incorporate LEED, sustainability, and green building requirements into the development process and your contractual agreements.
