Medicaid Planning: Medicaid is a federally funded program administered by each State that aids older and/or disabled persons to obtain government assistance to pay for long term care. We assist clients in every step of the Medicaid Application process, including the completion of forms, allocation of assets, and related estate planning documents. Often, our elders are eligible for Medicaid assistance but do not know, or are not willing to go through the inconvenience of applying, and have decided to privately pay. If you are privately paying for a nursing home for either yourself or for a loved one, or if you or a loved one is facing long term care, contact our office to find out if Medicaid can reduce or eliminate the financial burden.
Guardianship/Conservatorship: In our practice, we always inform our clients of the importance of a durable power of attorney and patient advocate for health care. In the event we are presented with a client whose loved one has either temporarily or permanently lost the capacity to make medical or financial decisions on their own behalf, we are able to institute guardianship and conservatorship proceedings in the Michigan probate courts. We are able to assist with both uncontested and contested Guardianship/Conservatorship proceedings.
