Professional Activities:
Mr. Hessen is the managing shareholder of the firm. His litigation background enables him to provide advice aimed at avoiding expensive litigation. If litigation is necessary, solutions are sought, if at all possible, to avoid trial so clients may direct resources toward more productive matters. This includes the use of alternative dispute resolution methods. His expertise encompasses various representations such as a nationwide company in an action to pierce the corporate veil, a statewide supplier to the automobile industry in litigation under the Uniform Commercial Code, and a multi-million dollar estate challenge based upon mental incapacity and undue influence. He also represents regional real estate developers in finance and lease negotiations.
Mr. Hessen is committed to the community and serves on the board of the Southwest Michigan Affiliate, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
